GREEN FANS EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: UAAP DLSU Board Member explains the Ateneo-La Salle rescheduling

GreenFans has a chance encounter with UAAP DLSU Board Member Edwin Reyes and clarifies the sudden changes in the UAAP Schedule

Despite all the questions and theories thrown around, one man remained calm in the eye of the storm. Board Member Edwin Reyes said that there was push to follow UAAP By-Laws to remain consistent that rankings should determine the 2nd Round Schedule.

This leaves La Salle with a difficult encounter with league leaders Ateneo instead of a clash with struggling UP despite tickets being already released to the game. La Salle was originally scheduled to play their rivals on August 23 to honour the commitment to MOA to hold the second round encounter there.

“La Salle objected,” said Reyes given the sudden change and the problems it will cause logistically , with the team’s preparations as well as the commitment with MOA Arena.

But after consulting with different sectors of the community and other parties in the UAAP, the derby match was then moved again to Sunday, August 17 instead of the day before to give the team and officials an extra day to prepare.

When asked how Coach Juno was asked on playing Ateneo this weekend, the coach simply answered Reyes, “Sir, anytime”.

We’ll be ready. Beat Ateneo! Animo La Salle!
